Studio Underd0g acquires its third party workshop

British watch brand Studio Underd0g has announced the 100% acquisition of its long-term manufacturing and after-sales partner, Horologium.

The move, finalised last week, transitions the brand’s production from an outsourced model to a fully in-house operation.

The acquisition follows Studio Underd0g’s purchase of a minority stake in the workshop in July 2024. With the independent workshop already dedicating 90% of its annual revenue to the brand, Studio Underd0g founder Richard Benc noted that the merger was a natural next step to secure the future of the business.

Based in Maidenhead, Horologium’s facility currently assembles between 1,000 and 1,200 watches per month and provides quality control, demagnetisation, and accuracy regulation for every piece. The existing technical team will remain in place, with a leadership transition planned for early 2026.

Benc hinted at future plans to utilise the facility that he now owns, including the possibility of a physical space for collectors to view collections.

“Bringing assembly in-house unlocks some incredibly exciting opportunities for us,” said Benc. “Our partnership [with Horologium] has always been built on mutual respect and shared standards of excellence, and this acquisition allows us to take that to the next level.

“We now have the chance to open our doors in a way we never have before, including exploring the possibility of a showroom and offering enthusiasts a hands-on assembly experience. This integration will give our community a unique insight into the outstanding work the team does every day, and I could not be more excited for what is ahead.”

This acquisition cements Studio Underd0g’s position as a major player in the British watch industry, following high-profile collaborations with H. Moser & Cie. and Christopher Ward.
