Tennis star Alex De Minaur joins Gerald Charles
Independent Swiss watch brand Gerald Charles has announced a new partnership with Australian tennis star Alex De Minaur.
The collaboration will see De Minaur wear the Maison’s Maestro GC Sport Tennis timepiece in yellow at the Australian Open in Melbourne before developing his own line.
Sitting in Gerald Charles’s GC Sport collection, designed with and for professional athletes, the watch is already sold out.
It is crafted in Grade 5 titanium, features a left-hand screw-down crown to prevent rubbing during sport, and comes fit with a Velcro strap developed to enhance ergonomics.
De Minaur has said he specifically wanted to partner with an independent Maison: “People who know me know I am a watch guy,” he said. “I am beyond excited to work with such a unique company of horology enthusiasts and can’t wait to get started on my own signature line.”
Federico Ziviani, CEO of Gerald Charles, added: “We chose Alex not only for the exceptional professional athlete he is, but also for his genuine passion for fine and vintage watchmaking.
“Beyond his performance on court, we were impressed by his cultural sensitivity and deep appreciation for horology – values that resonate strongly with the spirit and heritage of Gerald Charles.”
