The Royal Exchange’s retail arm up for sale
The Royal Exchange in London is having its retail arm put up for sale just four years after it was last purchased.
Owner The Ardent Companies has called in agents to sell the multi-floored 51,000 sq ft dining and luxury retail space.
The US company had bought the space for approximately £50 million in 2022 from Oxford Properties.
The Royal Exchange is steeped in history, sitting right in the middle of the City of London. To this day it is where royal proclamations take place, including as recently as 2022 when the Official Proclamation of Accession was read aloud on the steps of the building, in light of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
It has also served as a financial hub for the City, being home to both the Lloyds insurance market and the London International Financial Futures Exchange at various points over the years.
Nowadays, luxury brands such as Bremont, Omega, Watchfinder, Tiffany & Co., and Montblanc are the star attractions.
