Timpson says that watch repair sales are double its shoe repairs

Family-owned Timpson Group, which has over 1,000 stores or pop-up locations across the UK and Ireland, has recorded record annual sales for the year ending 27 September 2025.

It specifically identified its watch repair service as having been a strong performing division within the group, saying that it’s now more than twice the sales of its shoe repair business, which is what the company was originally known for when it launched in 1865.

As a whole group, sales reached £367 million, which is up almost 6% on the previous period’s total of £347 million.

“I am pleased to report that we have bounced back from Covid by achieving four consecutive record years,” the company said in its financial statement. “This year, sales reached £367m and produced a pre-tax profit of £46.2m, despite the changes to the National Insurance contributions and National Minimum Wage that added an unexpected £6m to our costs in the second half of the year.

“Most of our businesses increased both sales and profit. We have opened 18 new shops in conjunction with our supermarket partners, have acquired 10 shops on the High Street, and 18 loss making branches have been closed.”
