Tissot updates a 50s classic
Swiss watch brand Tissot has unveiled a new version of its famous Visodate model, which in 1954 featured one of the brand’s first integrated date displays.
The latest editions retain the vintage-inspired 39mm silhouette and domed dial, while introducing mechanical upgrades.
The new Powermatic 80 movement that powers the new watches offers an 80-hour power reserve. It features a Nivachron™ balance spring for magnetic resistance, visible through a transparent case back.
The three new variations include the Heritage Classic, which has a silver-toned dial with gold-coloured indexes on a brown crocodile-pattern leather strap.
Meanwhile, the Modern Steel comes with a deep blue textured dial paired with a stainless-steel ‘grains of rice’ bracelet.
Finally, the Contemporary Noir has a textured black dial on the same steel bracelet for a high-contrast look. Each model features Super-LumiNova® coated Dauphine hands and a delicately brushed domed dial.
The Modern Steel and Contemporary Noir on steel bracelets are £775 / $950, while the Heritage Classic is £710 / $850.
