Tudor ups the ante with revival of the Monarch
Not to be outdone by its sister brand, Tudor is calling on its own century-old legacy with the release of a new watch and in reviving the Monarch, the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation-owned brand has launched a new line.
In a release to press as part of the brand’s presence at Watches and Wonders this year, Tudor said it was a testament to how far the brand has come given it was able to draw inspiration from such a number of decades.
The case and sub-dial take reference from the 1920s and 1940s, the name from the Monarch range in the 1990s, while the error-proof dial first appeared on Tudor watches in the 2000s.
In a 39 mm steel case, the dial is a dark champagne colour which incorporates both Roman and Arabic numerals. The case back is open and gives sight to the Calibre MT5662-2U powering the piece.

It is priced at £4,600.
Tudor was sure not to waste an opportunity though. With all eyes on Geneva, the brand did not disappoint and delivered updates to the Black Bay line as well as the Royal.
Black Bay 58 Black

Firstly, the new edition of the Black Bay 58 Black is presented in a black colourway and retains all the core design elements from the brand’s history.
The Black Bay 58 is named after the year in which the first Tudor divers’ watch waterproof to 200m, the reference 7924, dubbed the “Big Crown”, was introduced.
This new edition of the Black Bay 58 builds on the 2018 release and retains all the core design elements while arriving in a slimmer case. It also gets the Master Chronometer certification and is now available on a five-link bracelet (£4,160), a three-link bracelet (£4,070) or a rubber strap (£3,870).
Black Bay 58 GMT

Next up is the Black Bay 58 GMT. First introduced in 2024, the Black Bay 58 GMT, is now available with a 5-link bracelet. It is fitted with Tudor’s new mid-size GMT Manufacture Calibre and is paired with burgundy, black and gilt hues on the bezel.
It is priced at £4,400.
Black Bay 54 Blue

A new addition has been made to the Black Bay 54 line in “Tudor Blue,” and makes reference to the brand’s first dive watch, reference 7922.
First introduced in 2023, this new version of the Black Bay 54 features a sapphire blue sunray-brushed dial and matching coloured bezel which are paired with a perfectly proportioned 37mm case and a Manufacture Calibre.
It comes with a choice of a stainless steel three-link “rivet-style” bracelet (£3,690) or rubber strap (£3,490). Both come with the Tudor “T-fit” rapid adjustment clasp
Black Bay Ceramic

Keeping the ceramic aficionados happy, it now comes with a new blacked-out aesthetic and a matching ceramic bracelet.
It is 41 mm in diameter and is powered by the Manufacture Calibre MT5602-U, certified by the COSC, with a silicon hairspring and a 70-hour power reserve. It retails at £6,030.
Tudor Royal

Finally, and away from the Black Bay line, is Tudor’s update to its Royal offering.
Introducing a new line of watches here, the novelties feature modern colours and sizes and all boast a brand-new aesthetic that’s refined and sharp with Manufacture Calibres.
Royal was a name first used by the brand in the 1950s to emphasise the superior quality and exquisite designs of its watches.
Now, the Royal range offers new dial colours in three brand-new sizes: 30mm, 36mm and 40mm as well as houses the manufacture calibres.
Prices here range between £2,540 and £4,930.
Rolex also called on decades of history yesterday, paying homage to 100 years of the Oyster. Read that in full HERE:
