Two anniversary models mark Eco-Drive’s 50th birthday

Citizen is celebrating 50 years of its light-powered Eco-Drive technology with the launch of two landmark models.

The nautical Endeavor Chrono and the ultra-compact Fio are both available on citizenwatch.com and showcase the brand at its best.

The Endeavor Chrono is a 43mm nautical watch, and features a ceramic bezel, which hasn’t been seen before in Citizen’s core family of watches.

It is water resistant up to 100m and topped with a scratch-proof sapphire crystal, making it more durable at sea. Meanwhile, its textured metal dial is engineered to allow any light to pass through the chronograph subdials, powering the watch, as only an Eco-Drive watch can.

The Fio is the other release, and houses the smallest Eco-Drive movement in the company’s history. The dainty watch is available in both round (18.4mm) and rectangular (14.3mm x 30.7mm) stainless steel cases, and is designed for jewelry-style stacking and versatility.

Either shaped stainless steel case frames a luminous sunray dial, complemented by distinct lugs and a raised mineral crystal.

The Endeavor Chrono is priced between $595 and $650, while the Fio is between $275 and $395.
