Two arrested after attempted robbery at Maryland jeweler
CCTV has caught two men in the act of attempting to break into a jeweler in Laurel, Maryland.
The foiled robbery took place at Karlos Jewelry and Diamonds, with the assailants in police custody just hours afterwards.
The incident took place last Wednesday, with the store being open for business with a fixed front door by the afternoon of the next day.
According to Fox 5, the surveillance footage showed the two suspects using a circular metal cutter to break through the front door before searching the business.
“When they broke the glass, they were able to get into the store,” said store owner Karlos Pelanto. “That’s when the alarm system alerted my phone and I called 911.”
According to Pelanto, prosecutors will release the suspects within a day or two because it’s their first offence.
