US law firm investigates Swatch Group over tariff refunds
A US law firm is actively looking into whether Swatch Group raised the retail prices of its products as a result of President Trump’s tariff hikes, but didn’t pass on any refunds to its customers once those tariffs were invalidated by the United State Supreme Court.
Edelson Lechtzin LLP announced that it is investigating potential class action lawsuits against The Swatch Group, whose 16 brands include Omega, Longines, and Tissot.
Their investigation covers products sold during the period of 99 days from August 7 2025 the tariffs were in effect.
When the Supreme Court overturned the tariffs and deemed them unlawful in February of this year, importers that had paid duties in those 99 days became eligible to seek refunds from the federal government.
Edelson Lechtzin LLP is essentially seeking to establish whether Swatch Group will be recovering any such payments without crediting the overcharges to its individual customers.
