Vintage meets modern in new Herbelin addition
French watchmaker Herbelin has introduced a new model to its Newport Héritage collection.
The new watch aims to blend a vintage 1970s dive watch style with modern performance.
“Herbelin is a brand enriched by a genuine horological heritage dating back to the mid-20th century,” says Herbelin’s co-creative director Mathieu Herbelin. “This legacy allows us to draw inspiration from a past that speaks directly to today’s passion for vintage style,” the brand’s grandson continues.
Water-resistant to 300 meters, the new watch features a 42mm cushion-shaped stainless steel case and a unidirectional ceramic bezel. The black dial is accented with a sky-blue flange, and oversized, luminescent hands.
At its heart is a Swiss-made Sellita automatic movement, which provides a 41-hour power reserve. The watch is fully designed and assembled in Herbelin’s French workshops.
Maxime Herbelin, the brand’s marketing director and cousin of Mathieu, adds: “The success of our first Newport Héritage model, introduced in 2020 with its three hands and day-date display, confirmed our desire to expand this emblematic line.”
This new Newport Héritage Diver comes with a vintage-inspired fabric strap and is priced at £1,150.
