Volumes down, sales values up, in latest GfK market data

Market research and data analytics specialist GfK has released its Q2 report for watches, with the trend of lower volumes but higher values due to higher prices continuing.

The data covers point-of-sale information across retailers in England, Wales, and Scotland. It doesn’t include Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.

Over a 12 month period (July 2025 to June 2026), sales value was up +5.4% year-on-year, despite volume being down -1.8%.

For the first six months of this year, sales value was up +6.9% year-on-year, with volume flat.

With online sales, the pressure is in the other direction according to GfK’s data. For the July 2025 to June 2026 period, units sold were up +9% in total, but with average sale prices down -3.9%.
