Voutilainen the dark horse at Bonhams sale in London
The showstoppers at Bonhams’ highly-anticipated London Fine Watches sale on December 11th were a pair of Voutilainen timepieces that soared past their pre-sale estimates.
A Voutilainen KV20i Inversé platinum manual wind skeletonised wristwatch (c. 2024) sold for £343,300, more than four times its top estimate. While a Voutilainen 28SC platinum manual wind wristwatch (c. 2023) with a blue guilloché dial achieved £254,400, five times its pre-sale estimate.
Voutilainen was not the only show in town, with a strong performance also coming from a rare, limited edition Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time Advanced Research (Ref. 5650G-001, c. 2017). One of only 500 pieces, featuring Patek’s pioneering Spiromax® balance spring technology, it sold for £317,900.
