“We will track you down” police warn after snaring London raiders

A smash-and-grab gang that terrorised high-end retailers across London have been found and brought to justice, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Using sledgehammers, and even a car as a ram on one occasion, the gang of seven struck at spots in Kensington Church Street, Duke Street, Edgware Road, Marylebone High Street, Sloane Street, and St John’s Wood High Street, stealing hundreds of thousands of pounds of jewellery and designer clothes.

“We realise these attacks on luxury stores have had a significant impact on business owners and the communities around them,” said Detective Chief Inspector Scott Mather, from the Flying Squad.

“Our detectives worked quickly, establishing common patterns between the attacks to link them to one criminal network. Forensic analysis and fast-paced CCTV enquiries were then able to identify the suspects.

“This is a clear message to anyone who thinks they can carry out smash-and-grab raids in London; we will identify you, we will track you down and we will bring you to justice.”

This latest successful work by the police follows the arrest of the Rolex Knightsbridge gang last month.
