Winners of CMJ Awards revealed in Birmingham ceremony
Independent UK jewellers were in the spotlight at the first awards ceremony hosted by the Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ).
The CMJ Awards took place in Birmingham on Sunday, 23 August, with the buying group’s retailers and suppliers in the running across various categories.
Winner of the Outstanding Contribution award was Alan Higgs, director of TH Baker. Higgs was a founding member of the CMJ and has been leading TH Baker for over half a century, and this award went some way to acknowledging his contribution to both the group and the wider industry.
Other highlights included: Wongs Jewellers winning the Customer Experience Excellence award; Forum Jewellers in Dorset winning Partnership Excellence; Cornwall’s Robertson’s Jewellers taking home the Community Champion award; and Fitzgerald Jewellers of Canterbury scooping two awards — one for Craftsmanship & Heritage and one for Retail Design & Environment.
