Worn & Wound acquires independent watch brand Lorier
Worn & Wound, the media company behind the Windup Watch Fairs, has announced its acquisition of independent watch brand Lorier.
Founded by Lorenzo and Lauren Ortega in 2017, Lorier will keep its creative independence under the terms of the takeover, with the Ortegas continuing to lead the brand.
Worn & Wound will be planning to leverage its reach and community to try and take Lorier to the next level.
“Our admiration for Lorier goes back a long way,” said Blake Malin, co-founder and CEO of Worn & Wound. They built an exceptional brand defined by a clear vision, strong values, and a dedicated community. This partnership was a choice that felt natural when the opportunity arose,” he continued.
“Our goal wasn’t to absorb or fundamentally alter them, but to champion their work. Lorenzo and Lauren will remain at the helm of Lorier, leading product development and creative direction. Worn & Wound’s role is simply to offer the necessary support and resources so they can focus on theirstrengths and continue to excel.”

Lauren and Lorenzo said: “Lorier has always been just the two of us, and we’d grown beyond what two people could sustain. We were doing everything, and we were running on empty. We’d received offers before, mostly from venture capital, and none of them felt right,” they explained.
“We were honestly preparing to close the chapter when Lauren had a conversation with Blake at Windup last October, and something shifted. Worn & Wound gets what Lorier is all about. We’re still leading the brand, still making the creative calls, still showing up for our community. We’re just not doing it alone anymore, and that changes everything.”
